Our Bootshaus storks
Our goal is to live in harmony with nature, people, and our region. That is why nature conservation plays such an important role for us. As part of the construction work, a stork's nest was also installed on the roof of the Bootshaus. This has been inhabited since 2025 and is now a successful breeding ground for the first Amberg storks.
Get to know our storks
We’ve named our pair of storks “Adele” and “Bartl”—after the colloquial name “Adebar” for the stork, often referred to as “Meister Adebar.” The term derives from the Germanic words “auda” (luck/blessing) and “bera” (to carry), making it a “lucky charm.”
One of our storks was reported to the Max Planck Institute for Behavioral Biology by the LBV in 2025 and identified. Our stork wears a ring so that its lifestyle can be studied and a contribution made to the protection of birds. According to the ring, it is a white stork that was ringed in Höchstadt in Middle Franconia in May 2021.
